Terms of service

Last updated: October 2026

By using Postille you agree to these rules. They are here to protect readers and the community.

The service

Postille is a free service to keep track of your books and reading notes and, if you wish, to share a public library with other readers. You must be at least 16 to use account features. The service is provided by Emanuele Vittori.

Your account

You are responsible for your password and for what happens with your account. Give true information and do not impersonate others. You can delete your account any time in Settings.

Community rules

Content (profiles, reviews, quotes, lists, bios) must not:

Zero tolerance: content that breaks these rules is removed, and accounts may be suspended or closed, without notice in serious cases.

Reporting and blocking

On every profile, review, quote and list you will find Report; on profiles you will also find Block, which hides profiles, libraries and content from each other. We review reports as soon as we can and remove what breaks the rules. You can also write to [email protected].

Your content

It stays yours. You only allow us to store it and show it the way you choose (for example, your library to other readers if you make it public) in order to run the service. Notes always stay private.

Third-party catalogues and stores

Book information comes from third-party catalogues (Google Books, Open Library, Apple Books) and may contain errors. Store links lead to external sites we do not control. When a link carries an affiliate code we say so: if you buy, we may earn a commission at no cost to you.

No warranty

We do our best to keep the service reliable, but we provide it “as is” and it may have interruptions or errors. We recommend exporting a backup now and then. To the extent the law allows, and without affecting your statutory consumer rights, we are not liable for indirect damages or loss of data.

Copyright

If you believe content infringes your rights, write to [email protected] identifying the content and the reason: we will review it and remove it if needed.

Governing law

Italian law applies. If you are a consumer, mandatory rules and the courts of your country of residence remain unaffected.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; if the changes are important we will tell you in the app. Questions: [email protected].
